Hello. I'm Makenzie. Family photographer, mom of two daughters, wife to my college sweetheart, and American living in Manama, Bahrain. My photography journey started in 2013 with the birth of my oldest daughter. Like many new mamas I wanted to have as many pictures of her as possible so I bought my very first "big girl" camera and started snapping away. As we celebrated her firsts (first laugh, steps, words) I celebrated camera firsts (first shoot in manual, first new lens). Over the next two years I taught myself how to manipulate my camera settings, how better to compose photos and take advantage of light, and how to edit in various programs. In 2015, our second little subject came along with the birth of our younger daughter. The photography hobby continued, slowly transitioned into taking photos for friends, and very organically grew into a business shortly after our move to Bahrain in 2016. I have experience doing a little bit of all things family photography: family portraits, in home documentary style sessions, newborn photos, high school senior portraits, birthday parties, and even a couple pets. My passion is capturing those authentic moments and unique connections families share, giving you lasting memories of what life what was really like at a moment in time.
I am also occasionally available for sessions in the DC Metro Area as well as part of Texas as we travel home to see family. Please contact me for dates and details.
